Co-Create

Co-creation and participation is the lifeblood of Third Place. Do you have an idea for a workshop or event? We host a wide array of activities because people like you took their ideas and dreams, and said let’s make it happen! Although we have a lot of talented individuals in our community and many of our events have a high production value, our space is also a place to try something for the first time, to experiment, to learn.

Not sure how to proceed? We made this Quickstart Guide to make it easier.

THIRD PLACE

Quickstart event/workshop manual

Step 1 – Make sure your intentions align with our purpose and values.

Some important things to keep in mind:

  • Everything we do at Third Place is done in the spirit of gifting.
    • You can’t ask for donations or get paid to hold the event.
    • You can’t advertise other events, products, or services.

  • Events must be inclusive
    • Third Place Community Events are open to all Members and Patrons.
    • Information about the event has to be shared with the community.
    • Events should be public so that those that are not yet Members or Patrons are also able to see them.

Read more about our purpose and our values here.
If you want your event to go a different direction, you’re welcome to rent our space instead.

Step 2 – Join the Community

To hold an event or workshop you also have to be a Member or Patron yourself. It can also be a good idea to attend a few activities yourself to get a better understanding of our community.

You can read more about how you become a Patron or Member here.

Step 3 – Make it a reality

If you have followed the first two steps, the next step is to make it happen. From here there are two main ways to proceed.

  • Get someone expired with creating events or facilitating workshops at Third Place to guide you through the practicalities.
  • Follow the steps outlined in this guide.

Good luck and break a leg! We’re looking forward to seeing your dream come to life.
